Today is the last day of our photo blog through Peru. We hope you have enjoyed it. We left the Sacred Valley to return to Cusco. On the way though we had a couple stops. The first is the Pisac Market. The views on the way were great as usual.
When many people think of going to to Peru, the first thing they think of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. And after much anticipated wait, it was our turn to go to Machu Picchu! To get there, you need to take a train for a portion of the trip. The train follows the Urubamba River to the town of Aguas Calientes. From there we took a shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu.

We continue our photo blog of pictures from my Adventures by Disney trip to Peru. This morning we woke up to rain. We had some sprinkles before this and the rain and hail while at the weaving demonstration. We received a magical surprise this morning. Rain ponchos for all! This would come in handy.
We were to go to Moray to see the concentric circles. When we arrived there, we were the first buses to arrive. We walked down to the first platform and then had to make a decision — proceed further down to the bottom of the circles or return to the bus. It was still raining and there was a lot of mud. I was worried not only about footing going down but also that we would have to climb back up. Unfortunately, I chose to go back to the bus. After seeing all the muddy and tired folks coming back, I was glad I did.
After river rafting and lunch, we started our first ruin tour. Ollantaytambo. This by far was the most continual climbing that we did all week. It certainly made the rest easier, but all the while thinking how much worse could it get!
Looking up from the bottom.
The stairs we would have to go to get about one-third of the way up. Continue reading
I should start out today saying the days noted are not the actual day one, day two, etc. Today is day two of photos. Over the course of the 8 day journey, I took just under 3000 photos. Some weren’t so good, but a lot of them are great pictorials.
On to today’s photos!
Here are our chariots for the week (as our guide Ernesto called them). Continue reading
At long last, I am adding some photos from our Adventures by Disney® trip to Peru! I don’t want to overwhelm anyone with too many at once so I’ll add more each day.
View of the beach and Pacific Ocean as we were driving to our first hotel. Our first day we just relaxed after a long day of flying.
