Want To Spend More Time in Alaska?
We have two options for those wanting a bit more time in Alaska. For those only wanting one prenight, we will work with you individually to set that up.
Three night cruise tour:
For those interested in just 3 nights in Alaska, we will get you to Denali! You will fly into Anchorage on August 4 and overnight there at the Anchorage Marriott. You will be other folks not in our group as this is a publicly offered cruise tour.
On August 5, you will take the Wilderness Express, a glass-domed railcar, to Talkeetna where you’ll transfer to a deluxe motor coach to Denali. Your arrival in Denali will be 4:30 pm. You will have the rest of the evening to explore Denali on your own with an optional land excursion. You will also meet up with the five night group. Overnight at the Denali Park Village.
August 6, you will start the day with a guided experience in Denali National Park on the Denali Natural History Tour (you will have the option to upgrade to the Tundra Wilderness Tour). In the afternoon, you will take a deluxe motor coach to Talkeetna. From 5:30 pm on, Talkeetna is yours to discover. You will overnight at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge.
August 7, we will leave Talkeetna for Seward on a deluxe motor coach in the morning, with a stop in Anchorage. You’ll have time to explore Anchorage before continuing on to Seward with a stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. We will board the Celebrity Millennium for our cruise to Vancouver later that day.
At this time, we have pricing locked in for the C2, C3 and 9 categories. We can certainly look at other categories as well. The prices are for two and include two perks:
C2 – $7767.02
C3 – $7667.02
9 – $4507.02
Five night private cruise tour:
For those interested in five nights in Alaska, we will start on August 2 in Fairbanks. You will have the option to come in a day prior if you wish. Only optional tours will be offered here. We will have a Tour Director starting on August 2 to help with setting up any optional tours as well as suggestions of activities to do.
August 3, we will transfer from the hotel to the rail depot where we will take the Wilderness Express Dome Rail to Denali National Park, then transfer to the hotel. Optional excursions will be available from arrival in the early afternoon.
August 4 and 5, we will be in Denali with a variety of optional excursions available. August 4 is when we will be putting together an all-day trip into Denali for all who wish to join. We didn’t want to set up activities that some may not be interested in which would just add to the cost of the vacation. Our Tour Director will be available to set up any activities. On August 5 in the evening, the three night group will join us.
August 6, we will transfer by deluxe motor coach to Talkeetna, having the evening to ourselves to tour the city, with an overnight in Talkeetna.
On August 7, we will we will leave Talkeetna for Seward on a deluxe motor coach in the morning, with a stop in Anchorage. You’ll have time to explore Anchorage before continuing on to Seward with a stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. We will board the Celebrity Millennium for our cruise to Vancouver later that day.
We were able to negotiate a great price for this tour by leaving all the activities, except the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center as optional. The most challenging part of the pricing was that many of you booked so far in advance that you have great cruise rates. Normally, with a cruise tour price, the cruise price is the price at the time the cruise tour group is created. Because this meant that the cruise price was so much higher than what most of you booked at, we worked with Celebrity to allow you to keep your cruise price as is and just add on the tour portion.
The land portion for this tour is priced from $1408 per person, added to the cruise pricing, however, this is subject to change. This includes your hotels, rail and motor coach transfers, Wildlife Conservation Center admission and Tour Director access.
Need More Time for Canada?
Several from our group have opted to travel on Rocky Mountaineer to Banff following the cruise. For a shorter trip to Banff, the train will depart on August 17. The next day will take you from Kamloops to Lake Louise on the train, again, with breakfast and lunch included. You’ll have the next morning to explore Lake Louise on your own before boarding a motor coach to take you on a tour of the Yoho National Park before arriving in Banff. Following your night in Banff, you’ll have a tour of Banff, including a trip on the Banff Gondola before heading to Kanaskis for a Panoramic Helicopter Tour over the Canadian Rockies. Finally, you’ll transfer to Calgary for one last night before your flight home.
