As I mentioned in a previous blog, I had the chance to tour the Art of Animation resort, which is set to open May 31, 2012. This is going to be a very exciting resort, with accommodations for up to six! The first area that will be opening is the “Finding Nemo” section.
The pool in the Finding Nemo courtyard is huge! There is also a splash area on the other side (around the anemone). Behind that there is a dry play area too. The fish and coral reefs along the side of the buildings are life-size if you were a fish too! Crush and Mr Ray are huge! The best part about this pool is the zero entry end, making the pool easily accessible to everyone.
Also opening at the end of May will be the Landscape of Flavors food court. This food court will be the “next generation of Disney food courts”. From “create your own” burgers and Mongolian grills to tandoor ovens and real gelato, this food court will be popular.
The next section of the resort to open will be “Cars”. This is slated to open on June 18. August 10, “Lion King” section will open. At this point all of the family suites will be available. The final section to open on September 15 will be “Little Mermaid” which will be standard rooms that sleep up to four.
Now through May 18, 2012, you can book a non-discounted Magic Your Way Base Package and receive a free upgrade to a select dining plan for stays between August 25 and September 29, 2012. The rooms at the Art of Animation have recently been added to this promotion. With the value resorts, like the Art of Animation, the quick service dining plan is complementary. You can also upgrade to the plus dining plan for just the difference in cost between the two plans.
Why not give this new resort a try, and enjoy a free dining plan at the same time? Our agents at Travel On A Dream are available to help you!
I asked this on my Facebook wall earlier this week, but now we have narrowed down our choice so I’ll ask all of you. We are going to be at Walt Disney World for one night in July. Which should we pick to stay at? A Finding Nemo room or a Cars room? Remember, we’ll be able to check out the whole resort (and take pictures this time!), but we’ll only be able to go into one of the resort rooms. Which would you like to see more of?
