We’re about half way through our Walt Disney World stay. One thing that we keep saying every day is “It’s hot!”. Hot and humid. When it gets this way, you have to use some common sense when visiting the parks.
Stay hydrated. This doesn’t mean with Coca Cola or alcohol. If you are going to drink alcohol, you will want to limit your intake and continue to drink water. We bring a couple of bottles of water with us to the park.
Know your limits. Don’t push yourself to do more than you can. You can always come back on another day or another trip. Heat exhaustion and stroke can happen without much warning.
Go back to the resort in the hottest part of the day. Use the pool, relax in the air conditioned room. Go to Downtown Disney and see a movie. There are lots of things you can do away from the parks.
Try a water park or your resort pool to cool off. Make sure you are wearing sunscreen and reapplying it often. You don’t want to get a sunburn on top of being too hot.
Take it easy with the weather and you will have a great time at Disney, despite the heat.
