Seattle, City Pass, Gluten Free, and a Little Wedding, Day 4, Part 1

THE WEDDING DAY HAS ARRIVED!  MY DAUGHTER IS GETTING MARRIED TODAY!!!

Let’s go do some more touristy stuff first, yeah?

We planned to do the Argosy Harbor Tour this morning because there’s a 9:45 cruise (weekdays the first tour is 11:00) and that gets us back to Tacoma earlier to get ready for the wedding.

I love guided tours – I love that someone else has all the information and rattles it off to me, and if they’re funny and likable, all the better. Ethan does not like guided tours – he doesn’t like that someone else has decided what his level of knowledge will be about this new subject. So I was apprehensive about his enjoyment of this component of our City Pass.

Ethan still has sand in his shoes from yesterday’s beach outing!

We exchange out City Pass vouchers for tickets and wait for the boarding.

They take a photo before you board that you can purchase afterwards.

There were 3 decks, 2 inside and then the top, on which to choose seats. You could walk around and change levels as the one hour tour progressed. It was a sunny, breezy day and we chose to sit on the top.

Seattle Great Wheel – 175′ tall, sticks out 40′ over the water.

Seattle Aquarium

I loved the design on this cruise ship

Edgewater Hotel – the Beatles stayed here.

Space Needle view from the water

Queen Anne neighborhood

I could have this totally wrong, but I believe these are Canadian Coast Guard ships.
Or something like that…

I have nothing…

The ever present Mt. Rainier…

Cargo being loaded and unloaded…
felt like an action movie was going to break out any minute!

The tour ended and I nervously asked how Ethan liked it. He loved it! We both agreed this was the highlight of our City Pass attractions so far!

We decide there’s time for lunch downtown before we head back to Tacoma, so it’s back to the “Find Me Gluten Free” app and we’re heading to a place called Blue Moon. The draw? GLUTEN FREE ONION RINGS.

We order our burgers and onion rings and head outside to one of the 2 outdoor tables to wait for our food. Ordering GF generally means a longer wait, no matter where you go. I ordered my burger wrapped in lettuce since I had never tried that before (Ethan got a GF bun). It was very messy and, about halfway through, I switched to knife and fork. The onion rings were very tasty, but the onions were cut larger than I like, so when the opportunity came to come back here in a couple of days, I turned it down.

Not to be outdone by Ethan being “one Space Needle Tall”, Abe proves himself to be “One Diet Coke Tall”.

Messy…

When asked about how the GF bun was, Ethan said “The same as all the rest.”

Enough touristy stuff – we have a wedding to attend!!!
