Walt Disney World Dining Cancellation Policy Update

We are hearing rumors that an updated cancellation policy will be coming to Walt Disney World on October 31, 2013.  For the last couple years, signature restaurants, restaurants that offer character meals and Fantasmic packages have had a cancellation penalty if reservations were cancelled within 24 hours or you simply did not show.  On October 31, 2013, we are hearing that this will expand to all table service reservations.

Any reservations made through Disney Dining (either by phone or online) will now require a credit card to hold the reservation.  If you do not show or cancel at least 24 hours in advance by contacting Disney Dining, going to Guest Relations, a restaurant podium or by calling 407-WDW-CNCL, you will be charged $10 per person to the credit card used to hold the reservation.

This is changing due to the number of guests who make multiple reservations and then no show or cancel.  Now more than ever it is important to arrive early for your reservation and if plans change, make sure you cancel.  The easiest way to do this is through My Disney Experience on your smartphone or other mobile device when you are at Disney World.

What do you think about this change?
